Next announcement: Tuesday 26 August 2026 — Ofgem confirms the October–December (Q4) cap; the assessment window closed on 18 August. Cornwall Insight’s final forecast is £1,700 a year for a typical dual-fuel household — a rise of about 2% on today’s £1,663. The forecast was cut sharply from £1,906 after the Government’s removal of the 5% VAT on electricity, partly offset by higher wholesale gas prices.
