Fuse Energy is the fintech world's entry into UK household energy. It was founded in 2022 by Alan Chang, formerly chief revenue officer at Revolut, and Charles Orr, an early Revolut hire. The pitch at launch was blunt: the lowest electricity prices in the UK, run app-first with the kind of lean operation you'd expect from a banking startup rather than a utility.
It has grown fast. By December 2025 Fuse supplied roughly 200,000 UK households and announced a $70 million funding round led by Balderton Capital and Lowercarbon Capital, reportedly valuing the company at around $5 billion. That war chest matters for one simple reason: undercutting the market on price is only sustainable while investors fund the growth, so Fuse's financial backing is genuinely relevant to whether its cheap deals stick around.

Fuse's Trustpilot rating sits around 4.8 out of 5 from more than 7,000 reviews (July 2026). Two themes dominate the positive reviews: support that answers quickly through the app, and bills that come in under what the reviewer paid on a price-capped standard variable tariff. That is a strong scorecard for a supplier this young.
The honest caveats: 7,000 reviews is a fraction of the review base of long-established suppliers (some rivals have 50,000+), the customer base skews app-comfortable early adopters, and rapid-growth suppliers historically hit service turbulence as they scale.
