If your DD doesn’t drop: three smart next steps
- Check whether you’re on a fixed tariff. If yes, Ofgem price cap changes usually won’t alter your unit rates until the fix ends (though your DD can still be reviewed).
- Request a payment review using evidence. Provide up-to-date meter readings and highlight your current credit/debit position. Ask how the supplier calculated your annual forecast.
- Compare the market for your postcode. If another deal better fits your household, switching can be a cleaner way to reset costs — but always check fees and timing first.
Switching note: If you’re on a fixed deal, you may have an exit fee. If you’re on a variable/default tariff, exit fees are less common — but always confirm with your supplier before switching.
