Every EV, heat-pump, smart and off-peak tariff we hold published rates for, drawn as a 24-hour strip for your region with its off-peak window, prices and standing charge, and priced for a usage pattern against the Ofgem cap and the cheapest fixed deal on our panel.
Octopus and EDF smart tariffs from the suppliers' published rates, and the feed tariffs whose windows we have checked against the supplier's own page
Four usage patterns, your own annual kWh, or set the off-peak share yourself

Typical-household cap: £1,723 for October–December 2026. Prices include VAT as published; domestic electricity is zero-rated 1 October 2026 to 30 June 2027.
Time-of-day tariffs in London
rates for Saturday 7 November 2026 · UK local time
Pick your region and the pattern closest to your home. Each bar is one day on the tariff: the pale band is its off-peak window and the price per kWh inside it, the darker bands are the other hours. Under each bar is what a year would cost on that pattern against the region's Ofgem cap and the cheapest single-rate fixed deal on our panel today. The arithmetic is shown, not a promise: the supplier confirms the exact rates when you apply.
2,700 kWh a year, Ofgem's typical electricity use; most of it between 07:00 and 23:00 with an evening peak. Patterns are modelled hour-by-hour shapes written for this page on 21 October 2026, not measured profiles; the share each tariff gets is that shape's overlap with the tariff's own window, so the same pattern gives a different share on a 00:00–05:00 window and an 11:00–16:00 one.
In London, at 2,700 kWh a year on the "Standard home (no EV, gas heating)" pattern: 4 of the 15 tariffs priced here cost less than the cap (£875 a year for electricity at 26.60p and 42.92p a day); the cheapest single-rate fix on our panel today, Fuse Energy November 2026 Fixed (24m) V5, would be £846.

How this is worked out
A year on a time-of-day tariff is priced as kWh × (share × off-peak rate + (1 − share) × other-times rate) + 365 × standing charge, where the share is the part of your electricity drawn inside the off-peak window. Where a tariff has more than two prices in a day (Cosy, Flux, FreePhase Static), "other times" is the hours-weighted average of every band that is not the cheapest, so use outside the window is assumed spread evenly over those hours, including any peak band. The cap is priced as kWh × the region's capped single-rate unit price + 365 × its standing charge; the cheapest fix the same way from its own rates. The break-even share is the share at which the two sides are equal: below it the tariff costs more than the cap, above it less. Two-register tariffs whose hours the supplier sets by smart charging (Intelligent Octopus Go 12M Fixed) have no window to overlap, so they are priced only at a share you set yourself. Half-hourly tariffs (Agile, FreePhase Dynamic) have no fixed window and show today's average instead.
These figures are estimates from published rates and a modelled pattern; the supplier confirms the exact rates, windows and standing charge for your meter when you apply, and the hours of a smart tariff can change with a new version. Exit fees, dual-fuel discounts, gas and any sign-up credit are outside the comparison. Most of these tariffs have conditions - a compatible electric vehicle or charger, a heat pump, a battery or a smart meter the supplier can read half-hourly - which the supplier's own page sets out; being cheaper on a pattern does not mean a home qualifies.
Data and dates. Octopus and EDF rows: the suppliers' public tariff APIs, read into our own price history about every hour (Octopus) and every eight hours (EDF); the rates shown are those in force on 7 November 2026, and each row prints when its product was last read. Feed rows (British Gas, ScottishPower, Ecotricity): the off-peak window and rate from a row checked against the supplier's own page or rate card (date printed on the row), the other-times rate and standing charge from the feed row the checked window is attached to (that row's snapshot date printed), Monthly Direct Debit; a live version whose window has not yet been checked is priced from its own newest feed row as two registers with no window. Cap: Ofgem's regional price cap for 1 October to 31 December 2026, Direct Debit, single-rate, read from Ofgem's published tables on 22 September 2026. Cheapest fix: the cheapest fixed-price single-rate deal for electricity at 2,700 kWh in our panel's 7 November 2026 snapshot of what can be switched to in each region. VAT: prices include VAT as the suppliers publish them. Domestic electricity is zero-rated from 1 October 2026 to 30 June 2027 (it normally carries 5%), so every electricity figure on this page is VAT-free for that period; where a feed row still carried the 5% it has been taken out so that every row sits on the cap's basis. Built 7 Nov 2026 11:34; refreshed every hour. Compare every tariff for your postcode.
